Over the span of this four-hour course (including presentation, Q&A, and breaks), students will learn about the ways in which they can expect their lives to change after becoming a first-time parent. As well, this course can prepare new parents for the necessary expenses and planning needed for bringing a baby home. Learning Objectives: • Financial planning (Budgeting, Insurance, etc.) • Legal necessities (Durable Power of Attorney, Wills, Advanced Directives) • Impact of parenting on relationship with spouse/partner • Avoiding the consumer trap of being a new parent • Impact on other relationships (friends, family members, pets) • Balancing work and family
