Qigong is a branch of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the historical precursor to acupuncture. 'Qi' means breath and life energy, 'gong' means to work or cultivate. Together the two words mean cultivating your life energy. It is a gentle energetic exercise that stimulates channels of qi within, helping to move blood through the body's sixty thousand miles of blood vessels. All inflammation associated with disease creates 'traffic jams' in our circulatory system, but with the practice of these subtle yet energetic movements, blood can begin to flow properly, naturally supplying our bodily cells with the oxygen and nutrients they need. Join in our practice of 4 Traditional Qigong forms that all can benefit from: Bu Zheng - Vitality Enhancement, 8 Brocade (one of the very first qigong forms), 9 Phases, and 7 Precious Gestures Qigong. In addition to these, powerful moving and non-moving seated forms will be taught and practiced as well.
