Essential Oils are liquids that are distilled from plants ( including seeds, bark, leaves, stems flowers ect). The inhaled aroma from these oils are believed to stimulate the brain. Essential oils can also be absorbed through the skin. The application of these oils is called Aromatherapy. Aromatherapy with essential oils can aid in pain relief, mood enhancement, increased energy, and increased cognitive function. Each essential oil has it's own healing properties. In this class we will sample a few basic essential oils (for example lavender, peppermint, lemon, frankincense), how to use each oil, historical use, physical benefits, and how to use them safely.
