Offered in collaboration with County Ambulance, this program is designed for individuals interested in providing care to patients in the pre-hospital setting. Participants will gain knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for certification as a National Registry Emergency Medical Technician-Basic. The Department of Public Health approves this program. It addresses information and techniques currently considered to be the responsibilities of the EMT-Basic, according to National Emergency Medical Services Education Standards for the Emergency Medical Technician. The program consists of didactic (lecture) instruction and practical skills training. Also includes 6 Saturdays. Students must be 18 years of age at the time of the exam.
