This class is an introduction to the vast and multifaceted world of concrete art. Learn the methods to cast a concrete leaf from an actual leaf for use as fountains, garden art and bird baths. We will use a unique, engineered custom concrete mix design that is easily sourced and provides our finished projects with amazing strength, extremely reduced weight, resistant to outdoor elements and thinner than typical casts, allowing for easy handling. Required materials - several fresh cut leaves with texture, with no holes, rips or tears, as small as 6' by 8' and as large as 10' by 18'. Plant examples: hosta, chard, burdock - you can find good leaves at the grocery store as well!! All students will make an item to take home with them. Wear work clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. Materials fee of $20 payable to instructor at class.
