Woven in reed, this shorter version of a traditional Shaker Cathead Basket is 4' deep and 9' in diameter with pointed or 'cat ear' feet. A perfect size for bread and rolls or as a catch-all on the counter. No prior experience is necessary. Suitable for the adult beginner. ($54 for Hancock Shaker Village members) Materials fee of $20 (cash only) payable to the instructor. Workshop fee includes admission to the Village all day. Instructor: Sandy Salada. A basket maker since 1995, Sandy weaves a variety of baskets, including patterns of her own design, patterns by other teachers, and reproductions of cultural and historical baskets. Salada teaches in her home studio as well as at Shaker Heritage Society in Watervliet, New York, and at Hancock Shaker Village.
